Agent's Perspective - Residential Real Estate Giant Realogy Announces New Home Buying Program “Turnkey”

Residential Real Estate Giant Realogy Announces New Home Buying Program “Turnkey” In Collaboration With Amazon

On July 23, 2019, the largest residential real estate services company in the US, Realogy Holdings Corp, in collaboration with online retailer giant Amazon, announced the launch of a new home buying program called TurnKey.
The TurnKey program seeks to simplify the process of finding and settling into  a new home, combining Realogy’s real estate expertise across its well-known and trusted brands, including Sotheby’s International Realty, Coldwell Banker, Better Homes and Gardens, Century 21, Coldwell Banker, and ERA, with the ease and convenience of Amazon’s Home Services and Smart Home Products.
Here is how the partnership is designed to work: Prospective homebuyers will visit Turnkey’s website and answer a few questions about where they live and what kind of house they’re looking to purchase. Amazon will then refer the lead to an experienced Realogy agent that has local market expertise. When the homebuyer closes on a house through that referred agent, they will receive coupons up to $5,000 for Amazon services, courtesy of Realogy.
Move-In benefits for homes sold at a price point of $700,000 or more clients will receive two coupons:
- $1,500 for Amazon Home Services - which can be used to customize a new home for things like unpacking, painting, hiring a handyman to assemble furniture, hang pictures, mounting a TV on a wall, or installing smart home gadgets.
- $3,500 for Amazon Smart Home Products – A curated suite of products including six Amazon Echo products, Sonos speakers, a Ring Doorbell, an assortment of smart locks and lightbulbs, Fire TV technology, among other items.
Amazon wins as it gives the company a new way to market things it already sells to a vast new audience while giving Realogy access to the largest consumer retail portal in the US, while at the same time providing new products to compete with the likes of Zillow, Redfin, and Compass.
